Recently our W4 Departures Lounge Team was told in no uncertain terms that Air France has closed its booking system for all awards seats to Europe in all classes through August. Never fear though, when Lucinda calls you on a Thursday night this summer and tells you that you need to be in Capri for her friends Sonja's 20-something birthday bash Saturday we've got two airlines that will get you there at the last minute without costing you mucho denaro.

Germany's LTU has begun direct service from NYC to Dusseldorf and Italy's Eurofly will soon commence summer flights from NYC to Bologna, Napoli (Naples) and Palmero with fares starting at 349 Euros. Its not British Airways First but a vodka and a few Ambians later and your there. Upon arrival in Naples and after putting on your shades to shield your eyes from the burning sun, feel free to use some of that money you saved on the flight over to take the 15min chopper shuttle over to Capri and straight into the arms of one of Sonja's friends and a bottle of rose.
