Le Weekend Europe: Beats: Fitzroy: Supermode

With the Cannes Film Festival under way and tonight's Vanity Fair party about to kick off on the croisette we figured there was no better time to bring you more superficial, repetitive, and mindless entertainment - our latest eurotrash pick.

This weeks pick comes from a group called Supermode. Don't worry as with any eurotrash one hit wonder you will never hear from them again. Although the track can be found on the latest Ministry of (Commercial) Sound compilation we think its worth a few spins. It reminds us that the 80s are back and that crack is wack.

And in other musical news Seashell and the Tanorexic send in this report from our Miami bureau:

"As Barbados born, Jay Z discovered, hip hop star Rhianna heats up the charts with her latest track 'SOS' another Rum Island export is making waves along Ocean Drive in South Beach - Fitzroy. Unfortunately, we were too busy ingesting UVB rays, mojitos, and topless beach action make it to his recent show at Jazid but we did find this great track 'Her' on his MySpace webpage. Check it out.
